(More customer reviews)This set of dishes and cookware is fantastic!! It is a little more expensive than others out there, but they are made in the USA and made from 100% recycled milk jugs! I think that our planet is worth it. This set is really durable as well. I purchased this for my 3 year old son who loves to "cook". My daughters had other dishes and cookware that I decided to get rid of because it just didn't hold up well. This set is made in gender-neutral colors, so it is great for boys or girls. The stockpot and skillet are decent sized (skillet is about 5-5.5" in diameter and the stockpot about 4-4.5"), unlike many play cookware out there. They work well with the play food we have. The dishes are about 5.5-6" in diameter and the bowls are about the same size as the stockpot (4"). The cups are about 2" in diameter. The packaging is made from recycled materials as well, and it wasn't hard to get the product out. Green Toys makes 4 different sets (tea set, gardening set, and sand set as well). I hope they start making more toys because these are excellent! They are fun, durable, great for imaginative play, and teach our kids a little bit about recycling, not to mention very cute!

Sprig Toys Adventures Dolphin Adventure Playset Review

(More customer reviews)I couldn't wait to give this boat to my 16 months old, because this boat looked so nice and fun to play with. Love the way it's made and that it is from recycled materials. Unfortunately because the bottom part is made of two different pieces (the hull in blue and the "floor boards" in brown) it has a gap in between that allowes water to seep in very quickly. If you gently place it on the water surface it is ok, but if you have an excited little guy push it into the water even a little bit, it takes on water very quickly and sinks to the bottom. First thing my son does when he gets in the tup is push down on it, and once it sinks he is not interested in the boat anymore. Maybe it is due to his age, perhaps he will be able to play with it better when he gets older, but I still think that for a boat made for small children it really shouldn't sink, especially not at that price! Another concern then is that mold can build up in between the layers which usually is the ultimate reason for me not to buy certain bath toys. Perhaps I will try to smear caulking into the space between layers to seal them together. Had I known this beforehand I wouldn't have purchased this product.

Just Think Toys Bathtime Consruction Building Toy (Tug Boat) Review

(More customer reviews)First, our daughter who is 2 does love the blocks. BUT..... they do not stick like magnets. We bought this product in an upscale children's toy store. Yes, they do stick a little but not enough to create the bridge or any structure with any height to get a boat to go through. Very disappointed that product does not stick as stated. Great idea, wish it worked. Not sure about other structures, we just got the Tug Boat, maybe the others work.... probably not. Good luck if you decide to purchase this. It was very frustrating trying to make the bridge.... my mother, husband and I were all laughing in frustration and now my daughter really does want to make a bridge but we can't even make a small bridge without it falling over!

Green Toys Tea Set Review

(More customer reviews)I have been on a mission to find the best tea set for my daughter. Well, this it! Fantastic quality, it is made from recycled milk jugs, the plastic is nice and thick. A bonus is that it meets FDA regulations so you can actually drink from the set without worrying about absorbing some crazy chemicals. The lids on the teapot and sugar jar are great because they are interchangeable, they stay on when you pour the tea, and yet they are easy for little hands to take off and put on. The packaging is also nice, it is three pieces of recycled cardboard, and one rubber band holding the spoons together. So easy to open! No tape or twist ties! And we can recycle the cardboard, and the rubber band is biodegradable. Wonderful! Oh, and the best part? MADE IN THE USA!!! My daughter absolutly loves this tea set, and has been playing with it like crazy. WAAAYY better than the annoying musical tea set out there, she didn't even want to play with that one.

Plan Toys Dancing Alligator Review

(More customer reviews)Our son walked a little on the late side at 17 months, and this little alligator has become a great companion for him since. With a dog, we must go for walks daily, and he walks the alligator while I tend to his younger brother and walk the dog. That alligator has put some MILES on it. We got it as a gift from my aunt who is an avid Salvation Army shopper and were devastated when a wheel fell off (this is probably after at least 50 miles on the thing, not including its milage from previous owners), but we found a label on its clackity body and were ecstatic to have located a new one. The best part ... no batteries! Just a well-made and inexpensive toy that is, quite literally, willing to go the distance with your little one.

Plan Toy Hammer Balls Review

(More customer reviews)I love this toy. When my 18 months got it she played with it for an hour every day. It is such a wonderful quality. The holes have rubber trimmings inside that hold the balls from falling through right away when placed onto the holes. You can even push them down with your fingers if you wish not to have a hammer around - in my case with a newborn in the house just to be on the safe side!
My daughter loved it without the hammer as well. She was fascinated with what happens to the balls when she pushed them down. They always end up on one side of the toy.

This Little Piggy's House Review

(More customer reviews)I've watched my 2.5 year old nephew play with his little piggy house for the past year or so and he never seems to get tired of it. It's so cute when he invites his friends inside his little house when they come over. They love to look in and out of the window, the roof, and the door.
A nice thing about the house is that the kids can draw and decorate the house as they like - with markers, crayon, stickers, anything that comes to mind! I struggled with rating the "educational value" of the toy because it doesn't sing or have words on it like conventional "educational" toys, but I still gave it a 4 (and thought about giving it a 5) because it really seems to develop imagination in my nephew - which is far more unique than other toys on the market. Your child can learn ABC's from any typical toy or CD, but it takes something different to spark creativity.
The house is more durable than I expected (the carboard is stiff), and assembly is super easy and fun for both my nephew and his parents - sort of like a large puzzle. My nephew seemed to have a real sense of accomplishment after helping to put it together, and he can do it over and over again (and get better at assembling it himself) if you want to put it away when not in use. It's also a nice place to store toys, stuffed animals, etc. when not in use.
I've gotten this item for a few of my friends' children and they all come back with rave reviews. I've seen a couple of other cardboard items for kids to play with - houses, rockets, etc. - but I like this one in particular because it's MADE in the USA (which is very important to me), and 5% of profits go back to feeding hungry kids. Plus it's much more stylish than others on the market.
I hope that the company starts to produce accessories for the house!

Plan Toy Musical Band Review

(More customer reviews)When we first got this toy, I played with it a lot. I noticed right away that the drums would start popping off if your drumsticks hit the outside edges of the drums too much. Since I have a toddler, I knew this would be an issue. A few days after he received it, his friends came over and completely took it apart in a matter of seconds. That's when one of the other mothers got a brainstorm...
The drum parts attach to the base by small wooden pegs on elastic. You're supposed to push the pegs in so they're in a vertical position in the holes. This clearly DOES NOT work well, even though it's what is directed and is also done this way in the photo on the box. However, if you push the wood pegs ENTIRELY through the hole, they turn horizontal and act like a button so the drums don't pop off.
Once they were in, we didn't have any other problems with the structure, except that my preschooler LOVES to take the other items off all the time. It's more of a puzzle to him than a drum set, but that could just be his level of development.

Eeboo Fairytale Spinner Game Review

(More customer reviews)So many GREAT things about this game.. First- As soon as a child can talk they can play this game. Second- As a parent, you are NOT bored to tears when you play. All ages can play and you aren't simply going around and around a board. Third- the artwork is nice and the pieces are durable. Fourth- (the most important to me) my youngest is in speech therapy and shies away from speaking. In this game if you WIN you "get to" tell a story. So it is REALLY encouraging her to speak instead of being afraid to talk.
I LOVE THIS GAME!!! It was the best present we got this Christmas.
