(More customer reviews)I've watched my 2.5 year old nephew play with his little piggy house for the past year or so and he never seems to get tired of it. It's so cute when he invites his friends inside his little house when they come over. They love to look in and out of the window, the roof, and the door.
A nice thing about the house is that the kids can draw and decorate the house as they like - with markers, crayon, stickers, anything that comes to mind! I struggled with rating the "educational value" of the toy because it doesn't sing or have words on it like conventional "educational" toys, but I still gave it a 4 (and thought about giving it a 5) because it really seems to develop imagination in my nephew - which is far more unique than other toys on the market. Your child can learn ABC's from any typical toy or CD, but it takes something different to spark creativity.
The house is more durable than I expected (the carboard is stiff), and assembly is super easy and fun for both my nephew and his parents - sort of like a large puzzle. My nephew seemed to have a real sense of accomplishment after helping to put it together, and he can do it over and over again (and get better at assembling it himself) if you want to put it away when not in use. It's also a nice place to store toys, stuffed animals, etc. when not in use.
I've gotten this item for a few of my friends' children and they all come back with rave reviews. I've seen a couple of other cardboard items for kids to play with - houses, rockets, etc. - but I like this one in particular because it's MADE in the USA (which is very important to me), and 5% of profits go back to feeding hungry kids. Plus it's much more stylish than others on the market.
I hope that the company starts to produce accessories for the house!
