Iron Man Deluxe Helmet Review

(More customer reviews)My 3 year old has coveted the Iron Man helmet ever since he first spied it in a certain ubiquitous discount store months ago. He was told he could get it when and only when he performed a big-boy duty involving the potty.
Yesterday the event occurred.
This has been my life since:
LAST NIGHT (an hour after bedtime):
HIM: I don't wanna go to bed, I want to wear my Iron Man helmet!!!
ME: You can play with it all day tomorrow.
HIM: I leave it right here on the couch. DON'T TAKE IT! Don't put it away!!
ME: Ok, I promise.
(10 minutes later from his bed)
HIM: (yelling out) Don't put Iron Man helmet away!!
ME: I won't.
6:22am THIS MORNING:
HIM: Uh, Mommy, I wait until the sun is awake... can I wear my Iron Man helmet now?
Everyone in the house has been instructed to try it on, work all the buttons, and talk about it over and over and over and over and over... (you get the idea).
He is beyond thrilled with it and (so far) hardly ever wants to take it off. He can see well enough out of it to be able to walk around without crashing (much).
From my point of view:
I don't see some of the fit problems that others mention.
I mean, it is a toy, after all, you don't expect it to fit perfectly. And it does have adjustments holes in many locations so it seems the size possibilities are very large -- not just standard "small medium or large" adjustment spots.
He is a small 3-year-old and we can make it fit him or his 14 year old brother (who is also a tad small for his age). And, if I wanted to go all out in adjustments, I feel pretty sure I could make it fit me. That is a pretty big fit range, I think.
It does come apart a bit too easily (if dropped too hard), and then has to be put back together. But you could probably solve the problem by duct-taping it from the inside if the clips get broken or weak. But it is ok if not abused.
If there is educational value to this toy, I don't know where it is. But it is certainly good for creative role play. He can BE Iron Man (and now wants the whole suit ... and the similar Star Wars Stormtropper helmet).

I wasn't expecting real metal or anything like that. It came in the mail today and I am TERRIBLY disappointed. It is made out of the CHEAPEST plastic you can get. I am sure this is going to break with in a day of my son getting it. The plastic reminds me of the same material as those plastic easter eggs you can get. Anyway, this is not worth even a dollar in my book. I would love to send it back, but this it seems is the only toy sax out there, and my son has his heart set on getting one. I have never written a review for a product on Amazon before, but this is the biggest piece of cr*p, I felt that I needed to.

It has lights and sounds to keep her entertained, but doesn't have much educational value. You can play with them and say the colors with them, but other than that it's just a fun jam out toy; not all toys have to teach them something. Kid's need to have fun too and this toy accomplishes that.

This is an ideal princess costume! It is not obnoxiously pink, and the style is very flattering, which is also thanks to the fabrics used. Yes they are synthetic, but they are stretchy, so that it looks like a perfect fit on my daughter and her younger and smaller friend. They also have a nice feel and are soft, which is so important. Many costumes are made from material that just isnt comfy, but this is.
It looks really great with the Fullness Slip, also by Little Adventures. Its kind of saggy without it, but still great for an impromptu Princess meeting around the house. But say, for Halloween, the slip really helps fill the skirt out.

Both of my girls fight over this one and have to take turns between the ballerina (seperate item) and the princess. I think they like the crowns and dresses in this one though the ballerina gets a lot of wear too! If having trouble getting them to attach, check to see if you need to clean the back, being careful not to get the front wet.

One note worth mentioning is that the "patty" started peeling paint. I know my daughter isn't chewing on it, so I really don't know what caused this.
With all the lead-paint scares, I promptly threw it away. This product is manufactured in China. I'm not saying that it may have lead paint or anything like that, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
All in all, they're very durable food items and fun. Just regularly check for chips in the paint to be safe.

Child Princess Gloves Review

(More customer reviews)The product photo looks like a pre-school aged girl. So, I bought these gloves for my 3.5 yr old (mind you, she is taller than most boys her age). Upon trying them on, they seem like they would fit a 5-7 year old better. I washed the gloves in hot water & threw them in the dryer so they would shrink. I will say they held up very well. I'll try to post a photo above in the near future. She was very pleased with them and will get some good use out of them.

Once you turn the car "on", the wheels start spinning. The remote control only controls whether the car is going backwards or forward. The remote can't brake or stop the car. So the car goes and goes and only forward or backward (with a turn) can be controlled.
It's very frustrating, because unless you constantly switch between forward and reverse turn, the car will constantly run into walls, people, furniture, etc. If only Tyco/Disney had spent another few dollars and put a "brake" feature in the remote.

Pretty Pretty Princess Sleeping Beauty Review

(More customer reviews)My daughters love the Disney Princesses, much to my chagrin, and I knew that this game would be an instant hit with my "girly" girls.
The game hasn't changed much since my little sister received it for one of her adolescent birthdays (she's 23 now) except that since this version is a Princess version, you don't get the black ring as a setback, but get a cardboard playing piece Maleficent instead.
There are 4 girly coloured playing pieces to choose from (all Sleeping Beauty, no other Princess choices) blue, yellow, pink, and purple. Each person chooses a colour and there is corresponding jewelry to match that colour: one necklace, one bracelet, a pair of dangly earrings, and a ring. My only problem with the jewelry I received in my game is that one of the earrings from two colours (one purple earring and one blue earring) does not close remotely tight enough to hang on an earlobe (thought none of the jewelry is supposed to fit tight anyway). This really takes away from the fun of the game as we cannot wear those pieces. The point of the game is to spin a spinner and go around the board and land on spaces to collect all your corresponding jewelry AND the Princess crown while NOT in possession of Maleficent.
The crown is more fun than the old version because this game comes with a sheet of old school stick on earrings that you can decorate the crown with and make as fancy as you want. Or you can just keep the stickers and use them as we would have in the '80s- worn them on our ears.
The gameboard itself is very simple. It's 4 cardboard pieces in the 4 colours that lock in a diamond shape, but unfortunately these pieces lock together and are not interchangeable so if you are playing with a PINK lover and a PURPLE lover, they have to move to that spot of the board to begin with. In the middle of the diamond shape is a space reserved for a small pink container that holds all the jewelry, playing pieces, and uses the lid as the spinner very smartly. The spinner is numbered one to four, so this game may be a challenge to those younger ones who cannot identify numbers by sight, but this game taught my 3.5 those numbers.
While not my style, per se, my daughters (3.5 and 2) love this game. It will teach them how to take turns, identify colours (and basic jewelry terms), counting, and number recognition. It even teaches fine motor skills (putting a bracelet on, etc). As long as the quality of the jewelry you receive is good, this is a great game for the girly girl in all of us.
I also love watching Dad play this game with the girls as well (bring a camera)!

The Easter Bunny may have to bring him a pair of his own. I had a pair similar to these when I was young and remember how much fun they were clomping up and down the driveway or down the hallway.
