Little Adventures Deluxe Sleeping Beauty Dress Review

Little Adventures Deluxe Sleeping Beauty Dress

This dress is way more durable than other dresses we have purchased at the store. The stretchy fabric on top makes it easy for our daughter to put on. My only disappointment is the sizing. Our daughter just turned 4, so I got her the medium (for ages 3-5). The sleeves end an inch or two from her wrists and the skirt is not as long as I would like.

Disney Princess Magic Fairy Lights Sleeping Beauty Doll Review

Disney Princess Magic Fairy Lights Sleeping Beauty Doll

This is a really cute sleeping beauty doll. It comes with three tiny faeries from the movie. When you put one on to her hand, the doll lights up. If you put the pink one on, it lights pink, the blue makes blue lights, and the green does pink and blue. Pressing the button on the dolls chest also produces pink and blue lights.
It's not as 'amazing' as it first looks to be. Her dress doesn't change color as it says, there are just colored lights underneath, so it's only where the lights are that you really see the dress a different color.
The dolls right arm is fixed with a 90 degree angle at the elbow...you cannot straighten it out, so the picture is quite misleading. That's the hand that you must put the faerie on.
The fairies are quite difficult for a little one to get to work. The slip over her hand, and the contact points on the faerie and the doll itself must match up for it to light up. In order for them to match up, you really have to push the faerie onto the dolls hand to get it far enough to reach the contacts. My daughter, at almost 6, can get them on, but a younger child may not be able to.
In all, it's a cute doll, but it's a little misleading, and a little difficult to use for the little ones.

This elegant Sleeping Beauty doll comes dressed in a shimmery gown. When kids place a blue fairy in her hand, the dress lights up and glows blue. When they put the pink fairy in her hand, it changes to pink! The green fairy makes the gown flash in both colors. Mattel. Ages: 3+

Pretty Pretty Princess Sleeping Beauty Review

Pretty Pretty Princess Sleeping Beauty

My daughters love the Disney Princesses, much to my chagrin, and I knew that this game would be an instant hit with my "girly" girls.
The game hasn't changed much since my little sister received it for one of her adolescent birthdays (she's 23 now) except that since this version is a Princess version, you don't get the black ring as a setback, but get a cardboard playing piece Maleficent instead.
There are 4 girly coloured playing pieces to choose from (all Sleeping Beauty, no other Princess choices) blue, yellow, pink, and purple. Each person chooses a colour and there is corresponding jewelry to match that colour: one necklace, one bracelet, a pair of dangly earrings, and a ring. My only problem with the jewelry I received in my game is that one of the earrings from two colours (one purple earring and one blue earring) does not close remotely tight enough to hang on an earlobe (thought none of the jewelry is supposed to fit tight anyway). This really takes away from the fun of the game as we cannot wear those pieces. The point of the game is to spin a spinner and go around the board and land on spaces to collect all your corresponding jewelry AND the Princess crown while NOT in possession of Maleficent.
The crown is more fun than the old version because this game comes with a sheet of old school stick on earrings that you can decorate the crown with and make as fancy as you want. Or you can just keep the stickers and use them as we would have in the '80s- worn them on our ears.
The gameboard itself is very simple. It's 4 cardboard pieces in the 4 colours that lock in a diamond shape, but unfortunately these pieces lock together and are not interchangeable so if you are playing with a PINK lover and a PURPLE lover, they have to move to that spot of the board to begin with. In the middle of the diamond shape is a space reserved for a small pink container that holds all the jewelry, playing pieces, and uses the lid as the spinner very smartly. The spinner is numbered one to four, so this game may be a challenge to those younger ones who cannot identify numbers by sight, but this game taught my 3.5 those numbers.
While not my style, per se, my daughters (3.5 and 2) love this game. It will teach them how to take turns, identify colours (and basic jewelry terms), counting, and number recognition. It even teaches fine motor skills (putting a bracelet on, etc). As long as the quality of the jewelry you receive is good, this is a great game for the girly girl in all of us.
I also love watching Dad play this game with the girls as well (bring a camera)!

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my 5 year old neice, who lives out of state. Evidently the 'play' make-up is actual make-up which my neice quickly used on the walls & carpet at home. When I purchased the item, I assumed the 'play' make-up was plastic, but I was wrong. A more accurate description would have been greatly appreciated...I would have then had a better idea of what I was shipping to my neice.
