Topsy Turvy Doll Little Red Ridinghood Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I originally received this doll as a gift for my first daughter almost 35 years ago. We loved it when she was little, telling the story as we flipped the dress over to reveal the grandmother & then flipping over the hat to reveal the wolf! How much fun to find it again. When I gave this to HER daughter last Christmas, it was a gift for my grand-daughter AND my daughter at the same time. The only problem was that the first time she used it to tell the story to her daughter, it made her cry with the poignant moment of memory and new experience.

Lil' Red Riding Hood Costume: Baby's Size 12-18 Months Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughter had this costume for Halloween this year. She was just a week over 16 months and 23 lbs. The costume fit her very nicely and I got a lot of compliments on it before it fell apart. The black ribbon on the front started to fray almost immediately. As she wore it, one of the seams under the armpits completely opened up. It got sticky from the candy she was handling so I washed it. What a mistake! The white blouse came apart from the red waistband in 4 places and the fabric itself started to unravel. All I can say is that the manufacturer was trying so desperately to save on fabric that they didn't even leave enough room at the seams for it to stay together. I loved the look of the costume for its one purpose, but was really disappointed in the quality. My daugher may not have worn it again, but now I can't even use it for a costume swap or to give it to another little girl to wear. It's such a mess I can't even donate it.

Alex Toys Little Red Riding Hood Glove Finger Puppets Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for entertaining my 1 y.o. She loves to examine the bright colors and remove and re-stick the characters to the glove. The individual characters are great as separate finger puppets. Soft, yet firmly constructed. Although the glove is made for someone with smaller hands.

Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf Barbie Giftset Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a lovely doll for the adult collector - lots of detail sewn into the outfit and a beautiful modern face paint. I love that Mattel chose to do a modern gothic line of dolls - sexy and mysterious.
As with most of the Barbie Collector dolls, she has solid legs that are not bendable. Since she's meant for display and not play, that's fine. These dolls are meant to be displayed on a stand. But unlike the cheap barbies, the legs aren't holly and don't knock around.
The quality of her costume is amazing. She has a raw musline undershirt/chemise with lace edging at the collar. The 3/4 sleeves are also capped with black lace and delicate ribbons matching the garters on her stockings. A black velvet corset has lovely lace up ribbons that are tied at the top in a bow. I really like that the ribbons are scale-appropriate for the size of the doll. She has a very interesting puffy skirt with tartan details. The skirt is sewn to the musline undershirt/bodysuit and not really meant to be removed for play. Over the outfit is the fourth layer - a red cape with a rolled up hood. Interestingly, the hood doesn't open - it is rolled and stuffed. Her hair goes over the top of it. And, of course, she has the fishnets with lace at the top and red/black shoes. On the inside of her cape is a barbie collector label.
I think the only distraction is that the skirt does not fit well on my doll. It's too big and bulky.
Her hair is long in back with a loose curl at the ends. She comes with a basket full of goodies appropriate for a forest romp.
The wolf doll is about half the size and equally (if not better) made. I'm not a fan of the plastic head - I do wish it was a ken doll with a removable wolf mask. But other than the plastic (soft vinyl, really) head on the wolf, I really love this set.
As with ALL Barbie Collector dolls, it is intended (and priced) for the adult collector. And I think the adult collector will love her!
