This model squirts water 3 feet for no good reason. The other one (the sand dunes model) dumps sand on the table of floor. Maybe these would make more sense if they had the other sets joined together, but then why sell them separately?

(More customer reviews)My 2 toddlers played a lot with this table last summer, and probably will again this spring/summer. Surprisingly the sand side was more of a hit than the water side. Be forewarned that their favorite activity was dumping sand from the table to the ground despite my frequent demands to the contrary. If we weren't in a rental, an actual ground level sandbox would be better...
After one season outside, the umbrella looked pretty dirty, though cleaned up nicely with bleach.
The table was simple to put together with one exception. There are screws to hold the legs to the table, but you can't screw through the hard plastic. I had to hammer them in, plus the box was missing one, so I had to order a replacement.

Wigglin' Water Snake Review

(More customer reviews)It made it to us in record time. My kids wanted me to hook it up right away, my son was afraid of getting sprayed in the face (the stream's at his level) He got over that though.
The plastic it's made out of does seem durable. We'll see with lots of usage.. i think it'll be fine.
We don't have great water pressure so it doesn't shoot as high as in that picture on the box. The kids still love it tho. It works on a hot day to cool them off.

Water snake is still working like new, it hasn't popped any holes even with the kids dragging it all over the yard. They're still using it & loving it!

(More customer reviews)I love the concept of this toy. I like the fact that it is water only (so sand doesn't get mixed in as with other tables). My two sons ages 2 and 7 (and all of the neighborhood kids) loved it the first few days we had it, although our plank and cannon squirter broke as well. The plank should be secured with screws, not plastic pegs. The squirter constantly falls off of the "hinges" and the plastic tubing comes off which is frustrating for my 2 year old. Again, cute product, but I wish it was made better.

It is short enough that our 16 month old has always been able to participate comfortably, and interesting enough that it still attracts my 4 and 6 year old children as well.
The water wheel is great fun, and the children love scooping water into its reserve to make it spin. The two levels of the table give the children individual play space if two children are playing. Now that winter is approaching, I look forward to adding sand instead of water to the table. I appreciate the easy-to-open plugs built into the basin, as it makes it easy to remove water (or sand). The toy, though sturdy, is also lightweight enough for an adult to pick up and simply pour water out, if desired. Children cannot, however, easily move or turn the table over.

(More customer reviews)I just got the The Spiralin' Seas Waterpark and my kids are having a blast with it! My ten year old daughter put the whole thing together herself.
The Spiralin' Seas Waterpark has lots of awesome features to keep your kids entertained for hours. Plus: water. What could be more fun? (You'll just be glad that they are actually getting cleaner while they play... for once.) The big attraction of this toy is the tall spiral that is in the center of the waterpark. The balls (included with it) are dropped by the children into the "water-slide" and spiral down ending up in the "lazy river," which has a spinner that your kids can turn to keep the river going. My children got every toy they could think of to float in the lazy rive that goes around the perimeter.

(More customer reviews)i thought i was buying the next size up when i saw this box "previously opened and missing an umbrella" at a major chain toy store. it was $20 off and i knew you can use a regular beach umbrella, so i happily took it home! my 20 month old has been THRILLED and spent the entire weekend making sandcastles, having her little people slide and "go swimming", making mudpies and generally getting her tactile on. today i realized it was not the one i thought i was buying, but am still very happy. she will have plenty of room to grow with this sand/water table, and it is very durable. it may be too small for 8 year olds like the next size up, but she and several of her friends could fit around it for the next few years. it does not have the bells and whistles of other tables with the attached funnels, gears and such, but those are things we can bring to the table. i like that on its own, this table is just a place to use imagination and those extra toys aren't fixed. it has a drain stopper on both the sand and water sides, a roundabout water canal on one and a slide into a decent sized sand "mine" on the other. i didn't want a big sandbox, just enough for her to bury things and explore without sand getting in every fiber of her clothing, and this does the job perfectly. the cover is TIGHT and should keep everything out. we had to use our drill to make 8 leg holes (they are marked, but not drilled through) even though the instructions say "drill optional". i guess if you wanna manually screw through plastic you can go for it. overall assembly took about 20 minutes. the legs have two settings and we immediately used the highest setting. you can see the picture i posted for reference of a 32" 20 month old.

(More customer reviews)I think this sprinkler is appropriate for a 2 year old (the water shoots very low, as does the water that trickles out the sides)...For a 3-4 year old, I think this sprinkler is a little on the young side. In addition, I was annoyed to have to keep moving the sprinkler to sit exactly upright at a 90 degree angle for the balls to pulse thru). It wasn't expensive, but I wouldn't spend it again if I had an older child (3+ years old) to entertain.

Little Tikes Lighthouse Boat Race Pool Review

She was thrilled to see the boats when they came in (by the way they do not look like the ones on the box). The path they come down does not even have enough water for them to "race" down, in fact they do not even slide down. The water barely trickles out. The sprinkler works fine (it does not take much water pressure for it to come out) and the pool is a decent size. Do not get this product it you like the boat race feature, it does not work. I paid WAY too much for this, I am sad to say.

(More customer reviews)This sand box is amazing. Considering that the others are the same price, this is, without a doubt, the one to purchase. The leak-proof top, the toys, the natural look of the toy and the shade umbrella all make this unique.
Things to know:
1) do NOT cut the black cord on the outside of the box. This holds the top on and makes it resistant to rain getting into the toy. This is not evident when you purchase it, as the instruction manual is inside the box. (thank you other reviewer for this tip!)
2) The umbrella is a true navy, not black as it appears in the picture
3) get over your dreams of a perfect sand and water table, with the sand in one area and the water in the other. My son loves the sand and throws it all around our deck. He mixes the water in the sand area and vise versa. Let it go, as hard as it is.
4) the sand area holds 40 lbs. of sand. An average bag is 50 lbs (around $5) But get a second bag anyway (see #3)

(More customer reviews)We purchased after a prior small (3' by 3') sand box was broken in a move. Living in an apartment, we only have small patio space to put our outdoor toys on, and because my son is older now (4) we opted for the table rather than sand box. So far, after having it outside for one month with several rainy days, we've experienced no leaking like other reviewers mentioned. It's great for building sand castles, digging tunnels, etc. My only complaint is that it's a bit shallow (about 4" deep), but this doesn't really stop the fun.
The upside is that is holds one 50 lb. bag of sand, about $4-6 worth. Just a side note: make sure when you are purchasing sand that it is play-grade, and silica-free. Home Depot's store brand of play sand does have silica, you will know that it has silica if there are cancer warnings on the bag. Lowe's offers Silica-free play sand at $5/50 lb. bag.
The bucket and scoops that are included are fun too.

(More customer reviews)We got this for our just turned two year old daughter. She LOVES it. We use it as an inside toy - in our living room with rice in both sides. I tried water in one, but she wasn't really interested. She loves scooping the rice into buckets and bowls (Note, though, that the rice doesn't drain through the toys that come with it.), hiding and digging her hands in it and, of course, flinging the rice everywhere. Not a big deal, I can vacuum it up. But, I decided to put a plastic shower curtain under the table to help make clean up easier. She wakes up asking for it and goes to bed asking for it. A great educational toy (Is the bucket full or empty? Which bowl is heavier?, Can you find the buried toy?...) - plus it will be better OUTSIDE in the summer!

I looked at a few sand and water tables & settled on this one because of the spinning accessories (they all seemed pretty similar otherwise) Comprably, the price was pretty good, too. I must say, we are really pleased with this purchase. Not only does my son LOVE it, but I found it very well made. Its really easy to put together (no tools needed!) but still nice & sturdy. It's also lightweight and easy to store. The entire table breaks down for compact storage. The table has two deep sections (so far we've used both for water- maybe we'll do sand in the future) Its a nice height for toddlers, and it comes with some really cute accessories. The scoops are perfect for little hands and the accesories are sturdy, too. They have withstood some abuse from my son. It has a sectional lid, so you could have one side covered while leaving the other open, or cover both. The lid fits nicely and has a little road design on top, so when not used for messy stuff, it could also serve as a play surface. Overall, I'm very pleased. I think its well worth the price. Its not cheap, for sure (considering its just molded plastic) but I learned pretty quickly that kids stuff is just expensive- even the junk- so I guess my expectations were low ;) . We try not to overindulge our son with 'stuff', but felt a toy like this would serve a multi-educational purpose, so we splurged. Pleased to say we weren't disappointed.

Step2 Naturally Playful Sand & Water Center Review

(More customer reviews)One question you need to ask is do you want one side sand and one side water, or do you want two sides with mud? You should decide otherwise your kids will decide for you.
Seriously though, we have a 1, 3, and 5 year old and all three enjoy this. I'd say that ~8 years might be the upper limit at which point kids might start to get bored...
I'd recommend not filling the sand side up all the way as the kids enjoy it just as much with only an inch or less of sand. Also you end up buying sand less often this way - it seems universal that they do not want to keep the sand on the table.
Note that there is a water drain ONLY on the "wet" side so you may have to bail the "sand" side out when they start moving the water around.
It came with a few boats, bridges, etc. Naturally, Hot Wheels and other toys will end up here. Consider adding a few empty yogurt cups, plastic utensils, etc to the mix. It's amazing how much fun and unstructured play they can have with these.
The umbrella is a nice touch as our deck is very sunny. If you don't need it for this toy you can still use it elsewhere as it's basically a beach umbrella with a shorter stick. The original umbrella is in a matching color, though if you need a replacement it seems Dollar stores sell one that is identical except for color.
My one complaint is that the top tends to collect water. It's designed to drain, but the top will sag, particularly because kids like to sit and stand on top. I put an empty yogurt container over the umbrella hole before I put the lid on and it helps prop up the top enough for the water to run out.
Otherwise very sturdy just like all Step 2 products.
