It walks kinda slow, so as the kid gets older he won't enjoy it as much. the interactivity is a bit unpredictable (like a dog), but you pet the dog's hand and it coos a bit or barks happily. Very fun.
My beef with this product is that it would be a bargain at 30 dollars and probably fairly priced at 40, but [...] is an awful lot for something that does as little as this product. It's way over-priced and that's the reason I give it only 3 stars.
It does come with batteries installed and it's turned on, so it barks when you move the box. That gave me a serious giggle as it sat in the back of my car, barking when I made a turn.
I think a 4 or 5 year girl will like it. I think a boy won't as much, and I think 7 or 8 is probably too old.
