The two special features of this toy--a knob that turns to dispense barrettes and a hair twirler--don't work very well. The barrettes will dispense, but you'll have to give the toy a jiggle while you turn the knob. The hair twirler will work, but you'll need one person to hold the doll still while another person uses two hands to work the tool.
There are all sorts of little shampoo bottles and hair pieces and whatever else that keep little hands happy.
