So far there are two in the set that I know of. The Rainbow dash is great fun. The hair is super long, but you can mix and match the hairstyles as it comes with other hair pieces too. They are really pretty ponies and quite different in looks from the previous ponys. They have brighter eyes, more open friendly faces, and look more like the ponys from the DVD's
I don't know about the educational value, but as with all My Little Pony stuff these are incredibly hard wearing and durable, In years of collecting this stuff for my girls we have only had one breakage (the RAinbow Dash house)
We like the new look pony, and like the new idea in styling - they are really fun and a bright addition if your children enjoy pony play.
