Hot Wheels Toy Story 3 Claw Rescue Track Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This toy is a track with a battery driven motor that releases a car which you must grab with a plastic claw to save from the incinerator. The plastic claw doesn't really grab the car off the track unless you use your hand to close it.
You would think you could lower the claw which would then automatically grasp the car. Nope.
Opening it requires some force (beyond that of my 4 year old son) and he quickly lost interest in it after 5 minutes.
I tried to get my 6 year old son to play with it, but he said it was "too boring."
Bottom line:
Save your money and don't buy this. The claw doesn't pick up the car like you would want it too.

Fisher-Price Little People Wheelies Stand 'n Play Rampway Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Fisher-Price has given your little one a thrilling toy in its Stand 'n Play Rampway Play Set - Evel Knievel lives... Yes, although this rampway set is meant to allow cars to speed easily down the twin ramps, the toy we purchased for our grandson causes the cars to careen off the ramp that winds down the left-side of the structure. While he thinks it is great fun to watch the cars fly through the air, it is not good for anyone or anything in the way of the flying car.
I called Fisher-Price to determine whether we might have a defective rampway or whether something else was amiss. They said they had no other reports of flying cars and suggested we remove the ramp section that was causing the problem and snap it back into place. This helped some, but not enough to keep the cars from sailing through the air, though less frequently. We did notice the shorter, lighter cars tended to fly off almost all the time, while the heavier cars might stay on the ramp. The racecar and sportscar which are both 1.3 oz. and 1/8" shorter than the police car are the two extras which had the most trouble staying on the ramp. The police car which is 1.4 oz. and 3/8" shorter than the pickup truck (1.5 oz.) also tended to exit the rampway; the truck did stay on the ramp most of the time. A recall caused us to send back the two cars that came with the set before the ramp was assembled; once we receive the replacements and know how they perform, I will update this review.
Since this was not available on Amazon when we made our purchase, we bought it directly from Fisher-Price. The cost was $40; we were able to get free shipping through a promotion. Be sure to watch prices, there should be some nice promotions for the holiday season.
The Fisher-Price Stand 'n Play Rampway Play Set was easy to assemble. It is well finished in that there are no sharp edges which might scratch a child's skin; in fact, the edges are nicely rounded and very smooth. The set seems to be quite durable; our one-year old grandson pulls himself up using the rampway and it remains sturdy.
This is definitely a fun toy for little ones. Had we not had trouble with the cars staying on the rampway through the entire course of the race, it would have been rated as a five-star purchase.

Fisher Price Little People About Discovery - Surprise Sounds Fun Park + Ferris Wheel Combo Gift Pack Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This toy was purchased as a gift for my 18 month old. He loves the sounds and the roller coaster ramp and obviously has no complaints, but as a parent, I am getting tired of putting the ramp back together as it comes apart frequently. Also, you have to push very hard to get the people to stay in the ferris wheel etc. which is too difficult for such a young child. He gets frustrated with this. I am sure he will grow into it, but do consider this if you are purchasing for a young toddler.

iPlay Zoom Around Garage Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This garage was so easy to put together (it did not require screws or the ability to read poor assembly instructions), and the plastic is pretty solid, not flimsy. The cars are chunky enough for small toddler hands. The interactivity is just right -- not too much, not too little: there are no annoying saccharine high-pitch voiced songs. Other toys cars we have also fit this garage, another plus because you can really expand this garage into a parking lot!
For what it does, the price is unfortunately steep. The right price should have been $30. Also quirky is that the toy does not include a helicopter for the helipad on top of the garage.
Last but not least, it is so true that this garage is easily dismantled by a toddler. My son began to take it apart while stepping on it as a stool -- off came the ramp by accident, and from there it went downhill. He takes this garage apart at least once a day. That is the downside to idiot-proof assembly: toddler reverse-engineering. I guess you could look at that as an unintended toy benefit. Being able to take the garage apart has kept my child more interested in it!

Beka 100-Piece Little Builder Wooden Blocks Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you were lucky enough to have a set of blocks as a kid you know how much fun they were. If you didn't, it's time you learned.
These are carefully made wooden blocks with no paint, varnish or shellac to worry about. They come in assorted sizes and shapes and there are plenty of each to work with. The larger ones are surprisingly heavy though not too heavy for a 2 to 3 year old to handle. They don't plug in or need batteries. They don't do anything on their own. They are powered by curiosity and imagination. Long after the electronic stuff has lost its charm, these blocks stay fresh.
This particular set does not come with a box of it's own. I put them in an office supply file box and they did just fine as far as the little guy was concerned. The company that makes them has other assortments that come with boxes or wagons to hold the blocks. You might want to consider that.
Whatever you choose to buy, you won't be disppointed. This is a truly quality toy.

Little Tikes Drive, Chip and Putt Golf Trainer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son, whose almost 3. We absolutely LOVE it! We've had the Little Tikes Drive, Putt and Golf Set for about a year now, but it was terrible! Every time my son would take a whack at the ball we'd have to hunt down wherever it flew off to. No more of that! This toy gives you the option of hitting regular loose balls off the tee or green patch, OR, they can hit a ball that's attached to spinning pole. This lets them practice the correct way to hit a golf ball without having to pause in between each hit to search for their ball! Overall, I just couldn't be happier with this toy. My husband is an avid golfer, and he was happy to see a golf toy that would allow him to teach our son the correct way to hit a golf ball without all the ball searching. I absolutely recommend this!

Tonka Wheel Pals Triple Track Tower Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 2 year old hasn't stopped playing with this toy since we took it out of the box. He absolutely loves putting the cars on the starting blocks and pushing the button to watch them go down the hills.
The cars seem very durable. They are a softer plastic (but not too squishy) and have nice big wheels. They're a perfect size for 2 year old hands to hold onto and push around.
You can turn the sound off, which is a nice feature a lot of toys seem to forget to add these days. The tracks also seem durable. They are "connected" at the top and the bottom of the ramps so we have not had any ramps coming loose and frustrating my son.
Overall, a very simple toy but it has bright cheery colors and it's very toddler friendly. Even my 4 and 8 year olds are trying to take it over to play it and have races. I think it's a sure hit for any child and it has a very attractive price.
