23" Balaenoptera Musculus Radio Remote Control Racing Boat (colors may vary) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a very fun, fast little boat. I am enjoying it very much. Easy to put together (battery pack, install the antenna mast (a plastic tube), and screw in the antenna on the sending unit.) It goes fast and is easy to control.

Controls are very simple, really just two switches: left engine one/off and right engine on/off. The control box has: go, forward on the left control and right or left turn on the right control. The left control switches both engine to full on (no throttle control, just full-on/off) and the right control shuts off one engine or the other (left or right), to turn. It turns quite tightly (without a rudder.) But by "pulsing" the left or right control, you can make the boat execute broader turns. It gets up and planes almost instantly. It's quite fast. At the beginning of a full charge, it might be doing the advertised 25 mph. 15 mph is more like it most the time.
The good: Price! Runs well, easy to use, seems to have good RF range, fast, tough hull, ships very little water. Be sure to pour out the water and leave it open to dry out between runs.
The negative: Short battery life. I'd guess I'm getting 15 minutes of operation with a full charge. It takes about 5 hours to charge. I have been looking for spare battery packs and couldn't find any. I ended up buying parts and I will be making my own battery packs (try BatterySpace.com and Radical RC online.) Runs on a set of 6 standard "Sub C" cells, wired in series, with a shrink wrap around it and a connector used for Tamiya RC cars. The RC hand unit requires 8 AA cells.

We give it both thumbs up!Please note that color may vary from the image shown above.

Kid Galaxy My 1st RC Gogo Auto Bubble Gum Racer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Bought 2 of these for my kids. It only turns in one direction and can't turn and drive at the same time (i.e., it has to stop, spin in one direction, and then go). Price you pay to make it simple for a 5 yo to use.
Main problem is that the cars use the same controller frequency causing a single remote control to control both cars. When you try to use both remotes at the same time - confusion abounds...
Update:
Seems that Fire Truck and Bubble Gum racer work on 49MHz. Police car, School Bus, and Monster Truck work on 29 MHz. If you buy two, make sure you go across these groups or else you will have controller problems.

Megatech Ultimate Radio Control Airplane & Helicopter Combo Pack #MTC9535 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The helicoptor had about ten flights. The rear tail stabilizing rotor is VERY FRAGILE. It came with only one replacement. After about an hour of flying and bumpy landings (no major crashes) both of the tail rotors were broken and the helicoptor was grounded. My son was extremely disappointed! I don't see any way to order replacement parts.

Chicco Construction Bulldozer and Dump Truck Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This set is really cute and my son (just turned 1) loves the little boulders and the truck sounds. I don't love how the dump basket doesn't stay attached at all and the loader/handle comes out quite easily too. It's a really fun 1st truck for little guys, but not durable whatsoever. Too bad - I spend way more time putting the pieces back together than he does playing with it.

Kid Galaxy My First Radio Control Dump Truck (Colors May Vary) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Wow, is this thing rugged! We got two for our grandsons, aged 5 and 6. They live on a mountain in a very rural area, so a toy that breaks is a big disappointment. And, being in the great far away, eating batteries is also not fun. Well, for over six months now, our boys have played with their trucks night and day. The batteries last for hours and hours.
There is a scratch here and there; and they're definitely dirty (the trucks and the boys), but they are still performing perfectly. If your kids or grandkids enjoy beating up toys outside in the dirt, they will love you for buying this one.

RC CARS McQueen EZ Rider Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It's a lot of fun for a CARS fan, and it is easier to maneuver for smaller kids. However, there are two problems:
1. Range: You have to be within 5 feet of the car for it to get the signal from the remote control, so you basically have to follow the car as it drives or else it stops -- my 3-year-old son didn't like to do this, assumed the car stopped, and kept asking for help.
2. Quality: One of the wheels stopped turning after the first day, making the car go in circles when you try to drive straight. I actually opened it up and moved the wires at which point it started working again, but then had the same problem the next day. The electrical connections just weren't made to last.
I'm going to buy a more reliable one and use this one without the remote control.
