Playskool Dream Town Sweet Lily Castle with Dress Up Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I got this castle much cheaper then the retail price! It is large with an opening of about 36 inches...but once you step in the castle arch's up to a little over 4 feet! It is very large but you can separate the two pieces. We have used the castle as an opening to my daughters toy closet and the backing with the windows as an area in her room. We have placed them side to side and we have also placed it as pictured! The possibilities are endless. We have only owned this for a few days but have moved it many times from room to room without any difficulty. The castle is made of fabric but the poles are very sturdy plastic and putting it together was not extremely difficult considering all the pieces (I actually did not put it together though :) ) My brother in Law took a little over 30 minutes doing it. The poles are color coded and also labeled with a number and a f (front) or b (back)
So far everyone has enjoyed it from my 1 year old daughter to the two 2 year olds and the 5 year old little boy!
It is large, and we do not have the space but we have truly enjoyed knocking on the castle doors, looking through the windows, and reading stories inside this castle! (Often times I read at the door-way while the other four play inside or sit inside. Like I stated earlier though we got it far below retail value (a little over 80% of the tag price) Would I pay more....with-out question I would!
The kids have even commented on a fire being in the castle from the scones and now every baby doll has become a princess waiting to be a queen. The only thing I would have changed is that I wish the pieces could Velcro together (but I can do that myself!) and maybe if the doors were a little sturdier (I think they are a thick cardboard everything else is thick fabric or plastic poles) other then that everything seems extremely sturdy and well built overall. Much better then some of the other tents/castles I bought and returned because they drove me crazy!!!! Lastly we do own the rose petal cottage chair but in many ways it is too wide for the castle the kids seem to like the regular fold up chairs inside this castle due to space constraints and comfort (The chair is very wide but not tall at all). Hopefully this review helps you decide!!!

Barbie Fashion Fairytale Palace Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughter's friend just got this for her birthday. It was hard to put together. If you are going to buy this for christmas, I would take it out of the box and assemble it before christmas. I know some girls love the specfic barbie themes or movies but the house is just not that functional. The house is not deep and the dolls are so large it is hard to play with more then one at a time. If 2 girls each have a barbie and are trying to play on the top floor the house could tip. The elevator on the side does not work as smooth as in the commerical. I got my daughter a wooden barbie house. It is not as decorative as this one but it is sturdy and has depth so 6 babrie could be in one room and multiple kids can play with it. I had a local handyman build the house and it cost less then the retail price of this house and it has held up well and is way more fun for the girls to play with. I would recommend looking into a wood or more sturdy house(or one that is deeper or has larger rooms at least) if it is affordable for you to spend the extra. If you do buy this house, I say spend time assembling it beforehand, and play with it on the floor in case it tips over(if this fell from a table I would question if it would still be usuable).

Melissa & Doug Royal Family Wooden Doll Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We just received this set and I felt compelled to leave a review. I usually love Melissa and Doug products and have always been impressed with their quality. Not so with this set. They are extremely and VISIBLY poorly constructed. There are visible splinters protruding from the hinge joint for the horses heads, large gobs of glue are dripped all over the legs, crowns and clothes, and the princess has one leg that's visibly shorter than the other, which makes it impossible for her to stand up.
We also have the Modern Family from Plan Toys, and I would highly recommend that set over this one, even though it's not a "royal family."

Fold & Go Woodland Treehouse Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered this for my 16 month old daughter, who really enjoys imaginative play. She loves it. It seems very durable. The soft animals are a nice touch. It is a nice change from a "traditional" doll house.

Disney Princess Favorite Moments Castle Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product for my 5 yr old daughter at the beginning of August. It was backordered so I didn't receive it for a few weeks. She was just gifted this toy yesterday. As soon as she started playing with this I knew I had to write a review.
First of all, it is very delicate and the pieces are very, very small. The biggest problem with this castle is that it is tall and very, very thin. It kept falling over and then all the turrets and things would fall off and roll across the floor. We had to use epoxy to glue all the turrets in place and glued the whole unit to part of a dry erase board we had from an easel we no longer use. It has made all the difference! Now she can play with it to her hearts content and I don't have to be putting it back together every 2 minutes.
I am disappointed that I spent [...]on this and had to spend additional money and energy to make it usable at all. I don't know how you create a castle like this and have it not cross your mind that it is top heavy and too slim. It would have been painfully obvious if they did any kid testing on this product! IT NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED ON A BASE!!!! But they left that for us to take care of.
Like I said also, the parts are very fragile and the bubbles on the tub and the blanket on the bed easily come off as well. There is a little "doo dad" used to put the dolls feet into that allows them to dance up top, slip into the bath and bed, and go up into the elevator. They are small and made of clear plastic so easy to lose (and you only get 2). They are also too hard for a little girl to get the feet into by themselves.
Overall, this toy has turned out to be more work than anything else. It is expensive if you ask me and poorly made for the money. My daughter LOVES it however. Just be prepared to spend some additional time, money and energy with this toy. I am glad they finally did make a castle for the princess "Polly Pockets" but just wish it was better made.
