Booby Trap Classic Wood Review

Booby Trap Classic Wood

I remember this toy from my childhood, and the overall concept is great. My 2 year old and 7 year old (and I) can play easily, since the rules can be understood by anyone. We can play the game in 15 minutes, so it's a good time-filler when we don't want to commit to a more complicated or elaborate game. One I spent a half hour fixing the game board, it's great.
I had to take the game board apart (2 screws) and smooth some rough edges with sandpaper because the spring loaded "plunger" would stick. The craftsmanship is on-par with cheap Chinese toys and the game pieces look like something hacked out of scrap wood. The kids could care less, but it just feels very cheap.

The Storybook Game Review

The game is simple. A deck of cards with a pictures on eah one. Turn one over and begin a story based on the image, then take turns turning over cards and adding a line to the story based on the picture. It's an excellent language challenge for everyone, Kid's that like to talk will like to play and kid's that have a hard time expressing will benefit from the structure and visual clues. I play with a 5 year old who loves it. I also bring it to school and play with my 6-9th graders.
