You can hear either a cough or heartbeat with the stethoscope. The case is great too because everthing fits in when your done. Even my 9 year old and his friends will play this with her.

(More customer reviews)I saw this tonight at TJ Maxx for $12.99. I agree with the previous review, sounds didn't seem to make sense. Kids can cough themselves. I liked the heartbeat sound, as w/ many doctor kits you don't get this, but the person above wrote that the stethoscope couldn't go on the kids' ears anyway. I definitely wouldn't spend more than 12.99 for this toy. It is a plastic toy, I thought should have been about 10 dollars. The package has wholes in the front to hear the sounds, but you can tell it is not an expensive toy just from holding the package and looking at it. For 12.99 your kids would definitely get enough play value to make the purchase worth while.
