Password Journal (Boxed) Review

Password Journal (Boxed)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We got this for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas. This was without a doubt her favorite toy that she received. She has a six year old brother and the idea of keeping him out of her journal is very important to her.
Setting up the journal password is a bit difficult. The key seems to be to "whisper" the password. If you speak loudly the system seems to not understand or get overloaded, I am not sure.
But, the "whispering" of the password seems to add to the enjoyment of the experience for my daughter. She feels like she is keeping a secret.
I would say one time out of three the book will not let her in when she says the password, but even then it is simply fun and makes her laugh, "intruder alert."
So, to those of you who bought this, try to whipser the password, see if you have success. Those of you considering it, know that it is great fun, and well worth the price.

Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Paws Off Electronic Diary Review

Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Paws Off Electronic Diary
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We just bought 2 of these for my daughters, ages 4 and a half and 8 and a half. First off, I wish there was more than just the dog version to choose from, but we solved the "whose is whose" problem with a Sharpie on the back. The voice recognition is pretty frustrating for kids, it took a good 20 minutes for my eight year old and I to get it to accept her voice. Make sure you pick a short, one syllable password, and like the other reviewer says, one with hard consonants in it. So far, I have been unable to get my 4 year old to say the password the same way several times in order to get the diary to accept her choice of password. She doesn't seem to mind too much though and both of them are in there happily writing in the diary and using the stickers. I hope Hasbro comes out with refill notepads and stickers soon!

Want to make sure your secrets stay a secret? Protected by a barking guard dog lock in the Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Paws Off! Electronic Diary, your secrets are safe from snooping friends, siblings, and even parents. Recommended for ages six and up, girls especially will love writing and hiding their deepest desires.Your Voice Unlocks the Diary With a normal diary, you're just begging for someone to sneak a peek! But not the Paws Off. This voice-activated electronic diary lets you record a secret password for you--and you alone--to remember. When the diary recognizes your voice and the correct password, then the guard dog barks happily and the diary pops open. When you press a button on the inside, the guard dog interacts with you. The cute figure even moves from behind its bubble dome so you can play with it any time. However, if the password is incorrect, then the dog is not friendly. Releasing a loud, angry bark, the diary will not open. And in case would-be intruders have any more funny ideas, this diary keeps out unwanted guests with a hard, durable plastic design.Fun Accessories Speaking of design, the already festive pink, yellow, and purple diary comes with sheets of fun pet stickers to decorate your secret notes and diary case. And with 20 sheets of pet note paper held in place with cute paw print clips, you can write your biggest secrets or keep notes to friends safe until you see them next.A wonderful addition to any Littlest Pet Shop collection, this electronic toy comes completely assembled and requires only three AA batteries (not included). What's in the Box Electronic diary, sticker sheets, 20 note paper sheets, and guard dog figure.

Radica IM Me Wireless Handheld Device Review

Radica IM Me Wireless Handheld Device
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this product as a Christmas present for my 9-year-old brother and sister, and they still haven't stopped playing with the devices. They even recruited a few friends around the block to join in - responding to a comment made earlier, I'm pretty sure not all of these neighborhood kids have devices, so I'm positive the PC clients works well. Regardless, the IM Me's are simple to use - my bother and sister even set them up largely on their own. I can't say enough about the educational value. I'm big believer in encouraging young minds to take advantage of technology (I wish I was encouraged as a child), and both my bother and sister are proving increasing savvy with the help of the IM Me. They're all set for the future.
The kicker for me was security. I must say I'm a bit of a traditionalist, so the ability to set up a fixed group of chatting partners is vastly preferable to the open IM programs where you never know who's going to contact a child.
The bottom line is that the device is a great piece of technology, providing the longest interactive experience my bother and sister have had in a long time (and sturdy... both devices have been dropped a few times already and still work great). I might even buy one for myself so they can communicate with me at a distance... I can join the fun!

Pecoware / Secret Diary with Lock, Fancy Butterfly Review

Pecoware / Secret Diary with Lock, Fancy Butterfly
Average Reviews:

The adorable heart shaped keys with this lock were a big hit with my 6 year old daughter. She loves writing and drawing in the lines pink pages, and it has a few graphics on the pages to makes them extra appealing to a little girl. The sequins on the outside did catch once, and tear a small bit of the back cover. If I had a complaint, that would be it. Other than that, a really great locking journal!

Hello! I got this product for my 12th birthday. I love it! It is a very neat present. A secret about it is, once you have used all the paper in the password journal, or before, lift up the pad even though it is glued down. Underneth will be a secret door. You can open it, and put things like notes in it! It was fun to find!
