KID K'NEX Flying Friends Building Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughter absolutely loves this toy. I think it's a little hard to figure out the setup of it and it doesn't come with instructions, but it's just off imagination. She isn't usually a toy player. She would rather rip apart books, but these toy really grabbed her attention. She loved the big googly eyes on the characters. She had a lot of fun building her sets and plays with this toy daily.
*I received this toy for FREE from K'Nex directly for my honest review and opinion.*

K'NEX Collect & Build Amusement Park Series #2 - Ferris Wheel Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you can't tell from the pic, this is a working Ferris wheel that seats about 8 Lego minifigures in all. Yes, it turns fine filled up w/ our Lego's! It was relatively easy to set up and take down. It was a little time-consuming to set up, but for us that is the fun. This is much better for older kids, since the sticks require a gentle but firm hand for construction. Once it was put together, it didn't disappoint in durability for normal play.
The Ferris wheel gives our Lego town a more interesting look, building it up for a fraction of the cost (I believe that we bought this for around $10 at local store this past summer-good value!). I noticed that this has gone up now, but hey-it's the Christmas holiday season...

Tinkertoy Classic Jumbo Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had tinkertoys when I was a kid in the 70's. I wish I knew what happened to that set. In over 15 years of play, I only had two parts break from being stepped on. Now I have a son of my own who requested Tinkertoys for Christmas. I was disappointed right away that everything was much bigger than the 'classic' ones. Of course, doesn't bigger mean better and more durable? Five minutes out of the can, the first rod broke in my 6 year old's hand. I thought he was just being too rough so I tried a few connection tests. Within minutes, I had several more rods cracked and a wooden connector and an end cap split. My son loves building with the ones that haven't broken yet and doesn't want me to take them back, but I don't want to wait for them to split too. I want the good old 'classic' perfect size, durbable toys. Bring them back! I'm going to take this set back and take my chances with the plastic version. If that fails, maybe I'll make my own. I miss the 'real' Tinkertoys.

K'Nex Kid - Zoo Buddies Building Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)While the cover has many animals displayed and there is a window on the box showing it to be chock full of building blocks and such, there aren't that many pieces in the box. At most they fill up 1/4 of the box and can make one animal shown on the cover and maybe another smaller creature.
When you open the box you'll find a clear plastic box filled with pieces that is glued to the box's window. The rest of the box is pretty empty. While I wasn't expecting to be able to make all the animals, I was hoping there'd be enough pieces for my sons to create figures and explore designs without having to destroy the one thing they just made.
There are some very specific pieces (elephant ears, trunk, eyeballs) but most of the pieces are large and generic. This works well with smaller sets such as Lego but sometimes makes it hard to find the right piece for what you want. As an example, there seems to be no good way to make feet and there is a design for a giraffe that uses a connector for a face that just looks awful.
We also have the smaller K'nex pieces and there is no way to interface the two as one can do with other construction sets.
Overall, the lack of pieces and the assortment limit what can be done with this set and stifle creativity.

KID K'NEX Construction Crew Building Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This fun kit will help your younger child to discover the world of construction vehicles. Who haven't drived past a construction crew repairing a road or a bridge? We do. And the boys are excited about seeing the big trucks. This kit will permit your boy (or girl for that matter) to discover how the BIG trucks work and how they can be used while working on the road. You can build five different machines with this kit. Each vehicle will have a big set of eye which makes it funny to play with.My boys are a bit old for this box but I think it would be a wonderful gift for a little one.My daughter loves to build with Kid K'Nex but somehow she is not as attracted to trucks and vehicles as boys would be. This box is geared for children ages 3 and up.
