The color (honey) is not stain and transparent finish, but some finish like paint in almost orange, warm tone...we like it a lot, but it was not what I expected from description. Also, one can see the wood pieces through this paint (semi-transparent paint?)...this is also ok with us, it still looks nice. Despite these notes, this is cute looking table and chairs. The chairs are sturdy so that adult can sit on them as well.
The wood is prone to denting...my toddler banged on it with a wooden tool and left some dents behind...some paint is chipping at one place where there is knot in the tree.
I bought this on Amazon at extremely low price (for table + 2 chairs) which may explain why I received product of possibly not the highest quality. At the time of purchase there were the same (or maybe better quality?) products on external websites for double the price. Currently, Amazon also sells for higher price.
Overall, I am happy that I could get this product at the low price...for that price this was a good deal...for double price, I would expect higher quality.
