It makes a boiling water noise when you press the button on the side, then when you tip it it makes realistic pouring noises! I LOVE ELC products as they are generally very good quality. We chose this to go with our wooden kitchen collection as wooden kettles had been criticized for their weight - this is very light and easy to maneuver, and no risk of broken toes if it is dropped. The same kettle was sold at Pottery Barn Kids for a higher price.
