(More customer reviews)I bought this in blue today at T-O-Y-S-R-U-S, for forty-eight dollars. I think that's about what it's worth, I wouldn't advise paying the current price on this page which is seventy-eight. It isn't all that solidly made, but it comes with lots of nice accessories, and it makes fun sizzling and bubbling sounds. It looks cute and does all the things a toddler or 2yo needs for a kitchen set to do. Plus the sink actually works! OK, it recirculates a few ounces of water, but this is a very cool and fun feature. My 11yo son and 8yo daughter put it together on their own in about 10 minutes, and the little one has not stopped playing with it all afternoon. It's nice and compact, and fits well in our small overstuffed apartment. The downside to that is, it's also not very tall. My son is a tall (90th percentile) 18 month old, and it's just about right for him with a little room to grow. So this is definitely not for preschoolers or K's, they will be frustrated and have to kneel. Overall a great purchase with lots of play value for small kids, small spaces, and small budgets if you can get it for a reasonable price.
I also recommend Just Like Home's little appliances to go with this. We got the microwave today, which is completely adorable and behaves just like the real one, with a turntable, light, and a beep that sends me running to the real kitchen to see what I forgot about in the microwave! My son can't get enough of the buttons, and putting food in and taking it out. We were also very tempted by the mixer, toaster, and coffee pot. All very cute, with fun buttons and dials and quite realistic (enough for a toddler) actions. We'll add to our collection soon.
