I had to show my 3.5 year old how to put the puzzle together the first time he used it but after that he was a pro at putting it together and taking it apart. He take it apart/put it together over and over again for awhile. He finds it fascinating and loves to talk about all the different body parts. I will explain to him what each body part does and he loves it - it's a very educational puzzle! This puzzle is made of solid well made wood - would last forever. Totally totally recommend!!!
