(More customer reviews)I got this for my 3 and 5 year old for Christmas based on a "best of" recommendation from a parenting magazine and we played tonight. It was great for counting (with lots of patience), colors, and paying for things you put in your cart. The game is promoted as teaching food groups...but you don't really get that so much from just playing the game unless you go out of your way to talk about it. The food groups are labeled in writing and color coded, so since my 3 and 5 year old can't read the writing they just used the color code system. It was okay for an educational game, but it's one I would tire of playing over and over (not a good quality in a kids' game). I'd recommend HISS instead...awesome family game, simple, fun, but probably not as educational. Also, I thought the shopping carts would be made of plastic (not the glossy card stock they used) and the most used piece of the game, the grocery store stand is also made of glossy card stock which I can't see standing up to lots of use by preschoolers. Further design flaw of the main piece makes it very difficult to get your little coins out of the grocery stand you put your money into to pay, which you have to do to play again.
